One: 1 + 1 = 3
As individuals, two persons have a certain amount of knowledge.
Put together, the sum of knowledge is more than just adding up the two.
Two: The turtle and the hare
The turtle and the hare organize a racing contest.
They have to cross a certain distance.
The turtle gets an advantage.
And they start running.
In the time that the hare runs a distance, the turtle runs a distance as well, be it much shorter.
But the turtle makes progress.
Everytime the hare makes progress, the turtle makes progress as well.
Paradox: the hare will never pass the turtle.
Three: The paradox of knowledge
You can define your amount of knowledge as the surface of a circle.
Inside the circle, this reflects your amount of knowledge.
The boundary of the circle gives you access to the amount of unknown knowledge.
You grow older, and your amount of knowledge will increase.
The surface of your circle will grow during this process.
And the amount of unknown knowledge grows with the length of the boundary.
Paradox: The more you know, the more you realize that your amount of unknown knowledge grows.
